Welcome to Mrs. Quagliato's

PreK-4 Class Page

Pennies for Patients Kicks off! Check those couch cushions, under the car mats and send in all that spare change (or dollars) to make a difference in the life of a sick child.

Welcome Natalia; Madelyn; Audrina; Jeremiah; Hana; Jayna; Sophia; Milania; Carter; Quincy; Slate; Maria; Angela; Jordan; and Sabina!

We have a severe PEANUT & TREE NUT ALLERGYplease be mindful of this if sending in treats throughout the year.

When wearing winter boots to and from school,be sure to pack a pair of sneakers or shoes to change into. The boots are cumbersome  and difficult to manuever in centers and on stairs.

Our Crayon Initiative is up and running. PreK-4 along with the help of our Service Club, “The Way” and Student Council will host this yearlong project. This worthwhile collection program aims to reduce crayons from landfills by recycling broken/discarded crayons into new ones for children in hospitals. We are asking for donations from all students, which we will sort and weigh throughout the year. The Crayon Initiative is a simple way for even our youngest children to make a difference in another child’s life. Please send in your chipped or broken crayons regardless of size, throughout the year.

As colder weather approaches we will be introducing self-care by practicing putting on our outer garments and fastening them (buttons, snaps, zippers etc.).

The children are continuing to learn about our world in a simple fashion. We greet each other every morning with hello from another language. This week we are sharing a simple, Hola!

We are hard at work using fine motor and sequencing skills to create unique works of art to transform our hallway into a winter wonderland. I use the children's masterpieces to show case thier talents. So, please do not get concerned if you are used to having crafts or art coming home daily. Displaying the children's work within our classroom and hallways creates  opportunities for others to comment and give encouragement to our youngest artists.

This week we are investigating Letter: G

We are continuing to get acquainted with class and school procedures and our list of class rules to remind us to  "Be Safe", "Be Healthy", and "Be Kind".  Class "jobs" were randomly assigned to promote teamwork & responsibility.

Here are a few observations:

Our children are playing and interacting well with new and old friends.

If ordering lunch, have the ticket filled in completely.

Provide a nutritious snack and lunch with drinks (a reusable bottle is encouraged). When packing these snacks and lunches be sure to include all necessary utensils and napkins.

We are encouraging our children to concentrate on eating properly and safely. You may hear, "Eat a little bit, drink a little bit”; "Good food first, then the treats" and "let's not talk with food in our mouth"

Sleep mats will be sent home for laundering at the end of each week, return them on Monday.

Lending Library Books are selected by your child to be read at home over the weekend. Please take advantage of this opportunity to share your child's choice of school readings. These readings will be added to our Reading Log. Don't forget to send the book back in the bag on Monday.

Our prayers include: Hail Mary, Angel of God, Our Father, Glory Be, and Bless Us Oh Lord.
